About the artist
Gemello, stage name of Andrea Ambrogio, is an Italian rapper and painter born in Rome. His artistic name refers to his twin brother, Lorenzo. He began rapping in the mid-2000s as a member of the group In The Panchine and of the TruceKlan collective, one of the most influential crews in Italian underground hip-hop, before launching his solo career in 2006 with the album «Non parlarmi d'altro».
His music is known for its introspective, often melancholic lyricism, dense wordplay, and a raw, uncompromising delivery typical of the Roman underground scene he emerged from. Tracks like «Stanotte», «Nostalgia II» and «Stanza 106» reflect his tendency toward personal, emotionally charged songwriting, while «Sirena» and «Testa uragano» show his range across different tones and productions.
Alongside music, Gemello is also active as a visual artist, and his work in painting often intersects with the same introspective themes found in his lyrics. Within the TruceKlan lineage he is regarded as one of the more lyrically focused and emotionally driven voices, contributing to the group's reputation as a foundational force in Italian rap.
