GASHI, born Labinot Gashi to Kosovar Albanian parents, was born in Africa and raised in Brooklyn, New York, giving his music a cross-cultural perspective that blends New York hip-hop swagger with pop melodicism and influences drawn from around the world. He works in a style that moves fluidly between singing and rapping, often within the same song, placing him alongside a wave of genre-blending artists who emerged in the mid-2010s.

His breakout single «Disrespectful» drew rapid streaming attention shortly after release and helped establish him as a rising voice, while earlier collaborations with DJ Snake — including appearances on «Oh Me Oh My» and «4 Life» from the 2016 album Encore — introduced him to a broader international audience.
