Frenna

Frenna, born Francis Edusei, is a Dutch rapper from The Hague whose career has run alongside his role in the collective SFB (Straat Fresh Boyz), one of the crews credited with shaping the modern Nederlandse hiphop sound. He first drew wider attention as part of the wave later celebrated with the Popprijs, before establishing himself as a solo act with his 2016 debut album «Geen Oog Dichtgedaan».

Musically, Frenna blends rap with strong pop and R&B sensibilities, favoring catchy, radio-friendly hooks over dense lyricism — a style that has made him one of the most commercially successful voices in Dutch urban music. Tracks such as «Verleden Tijd», «Wasteman» and «Louboutin» showcase his knack for smooth, hook-driven songwriting, often built around collaborations with other Dutch and Belgian artists.

Over the years Frenna has become a fixture of the Dutch charts, known both for his SFB output and for a steady stream of singles under his own name and the alias Balmainpapi. His combination of street credibility from the SFB scene with pop crossover appeal has made him one of the defining figures of Dutch-language rap in the 2010s and 2020s.
