Foolio

Foolio, born Charles Jones on June 21, 1998, was an American rapper from Jacksonville, Florida who became one of the defining voices of the city's street rap scene. He released his debut project, Who I Am, in 2016, followed by Industry Invasion the next year, both featuring a rotating cast of local collaborators. His breakthrough came with the 2018 collaborative mixtape 6Toven, made alongside veteran Atlanta producer Zaytoven, which helped push his sound to a wider audience.

Foolio's music is rooted in raw, confrontational street rap, marked by aggressive delivery, diss-driven bars and lyrics that chronicled the violence and rivalries of Jacksonville's rap scene in stark, unfiltered detail. Tracks like «Crooks», «Voo Doo», «List Of Dead Opps» and the «Dead Opps» series exemplify this combative, real-life-drawn style, which built him a devoted following even as it entangled him in ongoing street conflicts documented across his catalogue.

He continued releasing music prolifically, including singles such as «When I See You» and «Play With Me», and remained one of the most talked-about figures in Florida drill and street rap up until his death. Foolio was shot and killed in Tampa, Florida on June 23, 2024, shortly after celebrating his 26th birthday, cutting short a career that had made him one of Jacksonville's most recognizable rap exports.
