Flo Rida, born Tramar Lacel Dillard in 1979 in Carol City, a neighborhood of Miami-Dade County, Florida, is one of the most commercially successful rappers of the late 2000s and early 2010s. He built his sound around club-ready, hook-driven rap that borrows heavily from pop and dance music, often sampling or interpolating well-known melodies to create instantly recognizable singles. His breakthrough came with «Low» featuring T-Pain, a song built around a booming bassline that became a defining crunk-pop anthem and topped the Billboard Hot 100.

Over the following decade Flo Rida sustained a remarkably consistent run of hits, including «Right Round», «Whistle», «Wild Ones» with Sia, «GDFR» and «My House».
