Filthy Frank

Filthy Frank is the internet alter-ego of George Miller (known publicly as Joji), a Japanese-Australian entertainer who built a large following on YouTube in the early-to-mid 2010s with deliberately shocking, absurdist comedy sketches. The character — loud, crude, and confrontational — became a launchpad for a cluster of related musical personas Miller used across his channel, blending abrasive rap and gross-out humor with genuine musical ambition hidden beneath the shock value.

Under the Filthy Frank name and its offshoots, most notably Pink Guy, Miller released chaotic, high-energy rap tracks that parodied and simultaneously embraced hip-hop and trap conventions, often layered with obscene or juvenile lyrics played for comedic effect. This body of work built a devoted online fanbase and is frequently cited as an early example of a YouTube personality successfully crossing into music as a legitimate creative outlet rather than a novelty gimmick.

Miller eventually retired the Filthy Frank and Pink Guy characters to focus on his more introspective Joji project, which moved toward moody, melodic R&B and alternative pop and achieved significant mainstream success. The Filthy Frank era nonetheless remains foundational to his story, marking the transition from internet-comedy figure to a genre-crossing musician with a lasting cult following.
