Felt

Felt is an underground hip-hop duo formed by rappers Murs, a longtime member of the Living Legends collective, and Slug, best known as one half of Atmosphere. The pairing began in the early 2000s and quickly became known for a distinctive conceptual gimmick: each album is built around and named after a female celebrity the duo felt had faded from public attention, framed as a tribute meant to remind listeners the world hadn't forgotten her.

Between the early and mid-2000s, Felt released three full-length albums together, each also containing individual tracks named after other celebrities, blending witty, self-aware lyricism with the introspective, indie-rap sensibilities both artists were known for individually. After the project went dormant, the duo reunited more than a decade later, releasing a fourth album, Felt 4 U, in 2020, continuing the same tribute concept.

Felt occupies a notable niche within underground and indie hip-hop as a side project uniting two prominent, independently successful MCs, valued for its clever premise and consistent, laid-back chemistry between Murs and Slug across two distinct eras of the group's output.
