About the artist
Farid Bang, born Farid Hamed El Abdellaoui in 1986 in Melilla, Spain, is a German rapper of Moroccan descent and one of the leading figures in German gangsta rap. He rose to prominence for his aggressive delivery, provocative punchlines and street-oriented themes, becoming a defining voice of the genre in Germany during the 2010s.
He is especially known for his long-running duo with Kollegah, with whom he released a series of highly successful joint albums that shaped the sound of German gangsta rap, mixing hard-hitting boasts with dark, cinematic production. Several of Farid Bang's solo albums were indexed by Germany's Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons due to their explicit content, underlining his uncompromising approach to the genre.
Beyond his music, Farid Bang founded his own labels, Banger Musik and Helal Money Entertainment, giving him control over his releases and a platform to support other artists. Tracks such as «100 Bars» and «INTERNATIONAL GANGSTAS» reflect his continued presence in German rap, where he remains a commercially successful and controversial figure.
