Fard

Fard is a German-Iranian rapper born in 1984 and raised in Gladbeck, in the Ruhr area of western Germany. He emerged in the German hip hop scene in the mid-to-late 2000s, building a reputation for introspective, melodic storytelling that set him apart from the more aggressive gangsta-rap style dominant at the time. His lyrics often draw on personal experience, immigrant identity, and everyday life in the Ruhrgebiet, delivered over smooth, often melancholic production.

Tracks such as «Reich & Schön», «Kalt wie Schnee» and «Zu spät (I Remember When)» showcase his ability to blend catchy hooks with reflective verses, helping him cross over from underground respect to mainstream chart success in Germany and Austria. His willingness to sing as well as rap, and to explore emotional and narrative themes, made him one of the more distinctive voices in German-language rap during his rise.
