Ekoh

Ekoh, born Jeff Thompson, is an independent rapper from Las Vegas who built his career largely outside the traditional label system, relying on streaming platforms and social media to grow a loyal fanbase. Before turning to hip-hop, he was drawn more to punk rock and skateboard culture, and it was during time spent in rehab that he began journaling and writing poetry, which evolved into rapping over beats.

He released his debut EP, Zzyzx Road, in 2013, launching a self-directed career without a manager, publicist, or booking agent. His music blends hip-hop with elements of indie and alternative rock, resulting in emotionally direct lyrics delivered with a hard-hitting, energetic style, as heard on tracks like «Ted Talk», «End Game», and «Letting Go».

Ekoh's DIY approach and genre-blurring sound helped him build an unusually large audience for an unsigned artist, with songs such as «Pickle Rick» and «Nobody Like Me» showcasing his mix of comic-book-nerd wit and confessional storytelling, and his live shows noted for their high energy.
