About the artist
Edot Babyy, born Elijah Vincent Irvin on February 6, 2005, was an American rapper from Harlem, New York, part of the wave of young drill artists who emerged from the borough in the late 2010s and early 2020s. Growing up surrounded by street life, he became associated with the Harlem collective known as OY (Original Younginz), and channeled that environment into his music.
He gained recognition as a teenager, with tracks like «Ready 4 War» and «Ride The O» drawing hundreds of thousands of views online and establishing him as one of the rising names in New York drill. His raw delivery and street narratives resonated with the growing audience for the Harlem and Bronx drill scenes.
Edot frequently collaborated with peers on the come-up, including Sha EK, SugarHill Keem and DD Osama, contributing to a tight-knit network of young artists shaping New York's contemporary drill sound. His career was cut short when he died in November 2022 at age 17, leaving behind a small but influential body of work including «E4N», «We Back, Pt. 2» and «Friday Night».
