Edo Maajka

Edo Maajka, born Edin Osmić on December 22, 1978 in Brčko, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a Bosnian rapper, songwriter and producer widely regarded as one of the most important figures in Balkan hip-hop. Displaced to Croatia by the war in the early 1990s, he later returned to Bosnia and began his career as an MC in Tuzla, first with the group Defence and then as part of Disciplinska Komisija alongside Frenkie and other collaborators.

His breakthrough came with tracks like «Minimalni Rizik» and «Mahir I Alma», which turned into radio hits and paved the way for his debut solo album «Slušaj Mater». The record's blunt, socially conscious lyrics and distinctly regional flow made him a defining voice of Yugoslav-successor-state rap, addressing war, poverty and everyday life in the Balkans with sharp humor and directness.

Over five studio albums and numerous collaborations, Edo Maajka has built a catalogue that includes songs such as «Bomba», «Saletova Osveta» and «Svaki Čovjek», cementing his reputation as an ambassador of Balkan rap far beyond Bosnia's borders, with a large following across Croatia, Serbia and the wider region.
