About the artist
EBK Young Joc, born Jalique Moore, is a rapper from Stockton, California, part of the EBK (Everybody Killers) collective that emerged from the city's street rap scene. He began releasing music in 2017 alongside his group EBK HotBoiiz, building a grassroots following before breaking through more widely in 2020 with tracks like «Jokes Up» and «Real Mafia», which showcased the aggressive, drill-influenced sound characteristic of the Stockton rap scene.
His music is marked by blunt, unfiltered street narratives, delivered over dark, hard-hitting production typical of West Coast drill and gang-affiliated rap. He has been a frequent collaborator with fellow Stockton and Sacramento-area artists, notably the late rapper Bris, as well as Young Slo-Be, reflecting the tight-knit and collaborative nature of the region's rap community.
EBK Young Joc's story is also marked by family ties within the scene: his brother EBK Hari B is also an artist, his cousin is EBK Jaaybo, and he lost an older brother, the rapper Mobbalay, to violence in 2015. These connections and losses have shaped both his personal narrative and the themes present throughout his catalog of street-focused rap.
