Dry

Dry is a French rapper born in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, who became one of the pillars of French rap through his membership in the duo Intouchable alongside Demon One, and as part of the influential Mafia K'1 Fry collective. Despite being active on the scene for well over a decade, contributing verses and hooks to countless collaborative projects, his debut solo album, «Les derniers seront les premiers», did not arrive until 2009.

His sound sits at the crossroads of hard-edged rap and more melodic, R&B-inflected songwriting, which explains why his catalogue spans everything from street-oriented tracks to romantic, hook-driven songs like «Ma mélodie» and «Comme tu es». Tracks such as «Tant pis», «Le choix» and «On fait pas semblant» showcase his ability to move between introspective storytelling and radio-friendly pop-rap.

As a longtime member of Mafia K'1 Fry, one of the most important collectives in French rap history alongside artists like Rohff and Booba's early affiliates, Dry helped shape the sound of French street rap in the 2000s while also carving out space for a softer, more accessible pop and R&B-tinged style in songs like «Mon défaut» and «J'ai tout donné».
