Donald Glover

Donald Glover is an American writer, actor, rapper, singer and producer from Stone Mountain, Georgia, whose musical work under the name Childish Gambino established him as one of the most genre-defying artists of the 2010s. Before music, he built his reputation as a writer on 30 Rock and as an actor on the sitcom Community, giving him an unusually prolific dual career across television and hip-hop.

As Childish Gambino, Glover moved fluidly between rap, R&B, funk and psychedelic rock, most dramatically on the album Awaken, My Love!, which traded rap for Funkadelic-inspired soul and helped produce the Grammy-winning single «Redbone». His willingness to reinvent his sound from project to project, paired with sharp, often satirical songwriting, set him apart from most of his rap contemporaries.

Glover's success extended into acclaimed television with his FX series Atlanta and into film, including a role as young Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story, making him one of the more versatile crossover figures connecting hip-hop with mainstream film and television.
