Don L

Don L, born Gabriel Linhares da Rocha, is a Brazilian rapper from Fortaleza and a member of the group Costa a Costa, formed in 2005. The group broke through in 2007 with the mixtape «Dinheiro, Sexo, Drogas e Violência», which won the Hutúz Award for best rap album from the Northeast that year and again later in the decade. Don L built his reputation as a lyricist years before releasing a solo full-length, cultivating a cult following through mixtapes and guest verses.

His debut album, «Caro Vapor/Vida e Veneno», arrived in 2013, expanding on the «vida premium» concept he had introduced on an earlier EP of the same name. His style blends nihilistic, boastful bars with sharp self-affirmation, delivered over dense, moody boom-bap-rooted production typical of Brazil's underground rap scene. He is widely cited by peers as a reference point in Brazilian hip-hop and has been profiled by major outlets.

Don L is also known for high-profile collaborations, including «Special» with ConeCrewDiretoria and the massive hit «N.A.D.A.B.O.M. Pt. 2» with the São Paulo group Costa Gold, which racked up tens of millions of views before being taken down. Tracks like «Aquela Fé», «Fazia Sentido» and «Cocaína» remain among his most recognized songs.
