About the artist
Dizzy DROS, born Omar Souhaili in Casablanca, Morocco, is one of the pioneering figures of modern Moroccan hip-hop. He began freestyling with friends in the local scene in the late 2000s, spending years on demos before releasing his breakthrough single «Cazafonia» in 2011, a track that introduced a distinctive cadence and unapologetically local, Darija-driven flow that set him apart from earlier generations of Moroccan rappers.
His debut album, «3azzy 3ando Stylo», released independently in 2013, cemented his reputation with dense wordplay, street storytelling and a sharp ear for beats, featuring collaborations with fellow Moroccan artists like Muslim and Shayfeen. Songs such as «M3a l3echrane» and «Nota» became staples of the scene, blending boom-bap sensibilities with regional slang and humor.
Over the following decade Dizzy DROS continued releasing singles and albums that balanced braggadocio, social commentary and playful irreverence, becoming a reference point for younger Moroccan and North African rappers. His influence is felt in the widespread use of Darija as a serious rap language rather than a novelty, and tracks like «Paris» and «Sality Wla Ba91» show his range between introspective and party-oriented material.
