Dizzee Rascal

Dizzee Rascal, born Dylan Mills, is a rapper from Bow, East London, and one of the founding architects of the grime genre. His 2003 debut album Boy in Da Corner, released while he was just eighteen, drew widespread critical acclaim for its raw depiction of inner-city London life and won the Mercury Prize, cementing grime as a serious force in British music.

Over the following decade, Dizzee steadily shifted toward a more pop- and electronic-leaning sound, scoring major UK chart hits such as «Bonkers», «Dance Wiv Me» (with Calvin Harris) and «Holiday». These singles brought grime-adjacent energy to mainstream radio and helped him become one of the most commercially successful UK rap artists of his generation, known for his sharp wit, distinctive skippy flow and heavy use of British slang.

On later releases, including the album Raskit, he returned to denser, bar-heavy rapping, reasserting his roots in grime's foundational sound while drawing on production from a mix of UK and US collaborators. Across his catalogue — from «Fix Up, Look Sharp» to «I Luv U» — Dizzee Rascal remains a defining voice of British street music and a key influence on the grime scene that followed him.
