Digga D

Digga D, born Rhys Herbert, is a drill rapper from Ladbroke Grove in West London and one of the genre's most prominent and controversial figures. He rose to prominence through his freestyle on the «Next Up?» series and his work with the collective formerly known as 1011 (later CGM), whose music attracted intense scrutiny from UK authorities over its perceived links to gang violence. This scrutiny resulted in one of the most unusual legal situations in British music: Digga D has at times been subject to a court-imposed Criminal Behaviour Order requiring him to submit new lyrics to police before release.

Despite, and in some ways because of, this attention, Digga D became one of the defining voices of UK drill, known for his unorthodox flow, vivid street storytelling and knack for turning raw, unfiltered subject matter into catchy, chart-friendly hooks. Tracks such as «Woi», «Bringing It Back» and his «Daily Duppy» freestyle helped establish him as a commercial force, with several releases charting on the UK Singles Chart.

His music sits at the intersection of underground authenticity and mainstream appeal, and he is widely credited, alongside peers, with pushing UK drill into the national spotlight while remaining a lightning rod for debate about music censorship and its relationship to real-world violence.
