Die Orsons

Die Orsons are a German hip-hop group formed in 2007 in the Stuttgart area, consisting of rappers Maeckes, Kaas, Tua and producer/rapper Bartek. They release their music through the independent label Chimperator, which has also been home to acts like Cro. The group grew out of the Stuttgart battle-rap and freestyle scene, and their sound blends witty, often absurdist wordplay with playful, sample-heavy beats that draw on funk, soul and old-school hip-hop.

Die Orsons built a reputation for humor and self-irony rather than gangsta posturing, setting them apart within German rap. Tracks like «Rosa, Blau, Grün» and «Zambo Kristall Merkaba» showcase their taste for surreal storytelling and rapid-fire punchlines, while songs such as «Ventilator» and «Grille» highlight their knack for catchy, offbeat hooks. Members Maeckes and Tua have also pursued notable solo careers, which has helped raise the group's profile.

Over the years the group has released several studio albums and become a fixture of the German underground-to-mainstream rap crossover, respected for consistently creative, genre-blending production and clever lyricism. Songs like «Schwung in die Kiste» and «Papa Willi und der Zeitgeist» further reflect their eclectic, humor-driven approach to hip-hop.
