Davodka

Davodka is a French rapper of Russian descent from the 18th arrondissement of Paris. He began rapping in 2003 and spent roughly a decade honing his craft before breaking through in the Parisian hip-hop scene with his debut solo project «Un Poing c’est Tout». His flow ranges from a measured, deliberate delivery to a rapid-fire attack, paired with dense, pointed punchlines that established him as a respected technician within conscious French rap.

Davodka writes and often self-produces his music, directing some of his own videos, and his work is marked by a recurring atmosphere of melancholy and darkness. His lyrics offer a sharply observed portrait of the Butte Montmartre neighborhood where he grew up, using it as a lens to critique broader social ills. He is affiliated with the collective M.S.D. («Mentalités Sons Dangereux»).

His discography includes the digital project «L’Art Tisant» (2014), the album «La Mise au Poing» (2015), and «Accusé de Réflexion» (2017), cementing his reputation as one of the more literary, socially engaged voices in the French rap underground.
