About the artist
Danger Mouse is the stage name of Brian Burton, an American record producer, musician and songwriter who has become one of the most influential figures in modern hip hop and alternative rock production. He first drew wide attention with «The Grey Album», an unauthorized mashup of Jay-Z's «The Black Album» and The Beatles' «White Album», which established his reputation as an inventive sonic collagist years before he became a mainstream hitmaker.
He is best known as one half of Gnarls Barkley, the duo he formed with Cee-Lo Green, responsible for the global hit «Crazy», and as one half of Broken Bells with James Mercer of The Shins. As a producer he has shaped landmark albums for Gorillaz («Demon Days»), Beck («Modern Guilt»), Adele (co-writing and producing «Rolling in the Deep»), U2, The Black Keys and Red Hot Chili Peppers, moving fluidly between hip hop, psychedelic pop and rock.
Danger Mouse's sound is defined by warm, cinematic samples, murky low end, layered vintage keyboards and a preference for mood over polish, often blending eras and genres into something that feels both nostalgic and new. His catalogue on Lyricser reflects that same range, from soul-inflected pop to darker, bass-driven hip hop collaborations.
