Damso, born William Kalubi in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, is a Belgian rapper, singer, and songwriter based in Brussels, widely regarded as one of the most distinctive and influential voices in contemporary French-language rap. Raised in Belgium, he began his career within the OPG collective and later became associated with Booba's 92i label, which helped bring him to a wider French audience through the standout feature «Pinocchio».

His music is marked by dark, introspective lyricism, unconventional song structures, and a melodic, often melancholic delivery that blends rap with R&B and Afro-influenced textures.
