DA Uzi (FRA) (Rapper)

DA Uzi, born Davy Ngoma Di Malonda on 29 August 1992 in Angers, is a French rapper from Villeparisis who emerged as one of the harder-edged voices of French street rap in the late 2010s. Before music, he pursued a football career and even trained at a formation center in Poitiers as a teenager, but abandoned the sport at fifteen. His path to rap included stints in prison, which fed directly into the raw, unfiltered street narratives that became his signature.

His breakthrough came with the freestyle series «La D en Personne», launched in January 2017, which built his reputation and led to a deal with the Warner-affiliated label Rec. 118 later that year. His mixtape «Mexico», released in 2019, was certified gold and remains one of his most recognized projects, featuring the title track among his best-known songs. His debut studio album, «Architecte», arrived in 2020 and included collaborations with major names in French rap such as Ninho, SCH, and Maes, also achieving gold certification.

DA Uzi's style is marked by a gritty, confrontational delivery and lyrics rooted in the realities of the banlieue and his own turbulent past, placing him within the trap-influenced wave of French rap alongside contemporaries from the Rec. 118 roster.
