About the artist
Cromo, born Matteo Cerisola in Genoa, Italy, in 1998, is an Italian rapper who emerged from his city's underground scene in the mid-2010s. He began producing music as a teenager in 2013 alongside Kalt, releasing early singles online before dropping his first mixtape, «CK-47», in December 2015, mixed by Demo at Studio Ostile. He is a member of the Million Clique collective, a Genoa-based crew of rappers and producers.
Alongside his recorded output, Cromo built a reputation as a freestyler, winning local battles in Genoa — including one at the Crazy Bull with Ensi as a guest — and competing in national contests such as the Lombardy leg of Tecniche Perfette, where he reached the semifinals. This battle background shaped his rapid, technically dense flow, which favors wordplay and punchlines over melodic hooks, keeping him closer to Italy's boom-bap and freestyle traditions than to the trap-pop mainstream.
His catalogue, including tracks like «Italieno», «White Widow» and «Mai Abbastanza», reflects a street-rooted, unpolished aesthetic that has made him a respected name within Italy's independent rap underground, particularly around the Genoa scene and the Million Clique circle.
