Clyde Carson

Clyde Carson is a rapper from Oakland, California, born in 1981, who first made his name as a member of the Bay Area hip-hop group The Team before establishing himself as a solo artist. He is closely associated with the hyphy movement that grew out of the Bay Area in the mid-2000s, and his energetic, party-oriented delivery and street-level charisma made him a fixture of that regional scene even as his solo career pushed toward a more polished, radio-friendly sound.

Carson signed to The Game's Black Wall Street Records and released the «Doin' That» EP before eventually landing with Moe Doe Entertainment. His biggest commercial breakthrough came with «Slow Down», featuring his former Team bandmates — a slick, hook-driven single that reached wide audiences after being featured on the fictional radio station Radio Los Santos in «Grand Theft Auto V», introducing his music to millions of players well beyond the Bay Area.

His catalog, including the album «Playboy», blends hyphy-era club energy with smoother mainstream rap production. Off the mic, Carson is known as a brand ambassador for the energy drink Hyphy Juice, a name and product tied directly to the movement he came up in, and which regularly appears as a reference point in his lyrics.
