Clockwork Indigo

Clockwork Indigo is a hip-hop supergroup formed from the union of two Brooklyn crews within the Beast Coast collective: Flatbush Zombies (Erick Arc Elliott, Meechy Darko and Zombie Juice) and The Underachievers (AKTHESAVIOR and Issa Gold). The project surfaced as a natural extension of the close-knit New York underground scene that also includes Pro Era and Flatbush Zombies’ own catalog.

In October 2014 the group released their sole EP, Clockwork Indigo, pairing psychedelic, bass-heavy production with the two crews’ shared affinity for dense wordplay, mysticism-tinged imagery and aggressive, tag-team verses. Tracks like «Butterfly Effect» and «System» reflect the loose, cypher-style chemistry between the five MCs.

While the members have continued primarily with their respective groups, Clockwork Indigo stands as a document of the Beast Coast era’s collaborative spirit, illustrating how Flatbush Zombies and The Underachievers cross-pollinated New York’s 2010s underground rap resurgence.
