Clever, born Joshua Tyler Huie on July 8, 1985, is an American rapper and singer-songwriter from Gadsden, Alabama. After years of releasing mixtapes independently starting in the mid-2000s, he gained wider attention with a feature on Juice WRLD's «Ring Ring» in early 2019, followed by his own breakout single «Stick By My Side» with NLE Choppa later that year.

His sound blends melodic rap and Southern hip-hop with country and R&B influences, reflecting his Alabama roots, and often leans toward emotionally direct songwriting about loyalty, relationships, and struggle. A high-profile collaboration with Justin Bieber and Post Malone on «Forever» further raised his profile and led to a record deal with Republic Records in 2020.

Clever has continued releasing solo material alongside collaborative projects, including work with fellow Alabama artist NoCap. His music sits at the intersection of mainstream rap, trap, and Southern melodic traditions, and he comes from a musical family — his older brother, Jason Huie, also works in the industry.
