Claver Gold

Claver Gold, born Daycol Emidio Orsini in Ascoli Piceno, is an Italian rapper who emerged from the city's hip hop scene in the late 1990s, starting out as a graffiti writer before turning fully to rap in 1998 as part of the Hi-Tek Squad collective and the group APC. He built his reputation through freestyle battle competitions, winning several regional titles, which is how the Gold suffix was added to his original alias Claver. Years spent in Bologna, where he studied graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts while performing in the citys network of centri sociali, shaped his more mature and literary songwriting style.

Claver Gold is known for a dense, introspective and often melancholic style of rap, frequently exploring themes of struggle, redemption, love and mortality through vivid storytelling. He has built a reputation as one of the more poetic voices in contemporary Italian underground rap, distinguishing himself from more commercial trap-oriented artists. Songs such as «Il meglio di me», «Paolo e Francesca» and «Anima Nera» showcase his narrative approach, often drawing on literary and historical references.

Over the years he has developed notable collaborative projects within the Italian rap scene, working alongside producers and fellow MCs to expand his sound while staying rooted in a raw, authentic lyrical tradition.
