Classified

Classified, born Luke Boyd, is a Canadian rapper and producer from Enfield, Nova Scotia. Raised around live music through his father's band, he gravitated to hip hop early, citing Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z and Nas as formative influences. He began releasing albums independently in the mid-1990s, eventually founding his own label, Halflife Records, to keep full creative control over his output.

His breakthrough with mainstream Canadian audiences came with «Boy-Cott In The Industry» in 2005, followed a year later by «Hitch Hikin Music», widely regarded as one of the strongest Canadian rap albums ever made. Classified built a reputation as a rare triple threat — rapping, producing and engineering nearly everything himself — and later broadened his sound toward radio-friendly rap-pop, scoring a major crossover hit with «Inner Ninja» featuring David Myles.

Over a discography spanning more than a dozen albums, he has stayed prolific and self-sufficient, releasing steadily through the 2010s while remaining based in Nova Scotia rather than relocating to a larger music hub. His catalog blends autobiographical storytelling with anthemic hooks, songs like «Oh... Canada» and «10 Years» reflecting on identity, place and career longevity.
