City Morgue

City Morgue were an American trap metal duo formed by New York rappers ZillaKami and SosMula, who began collaborating around 2016 before solidifying as an official act in 2018. Signed to Hikari-ULTRA, the pair built a fervent underground following through early singles like «SHINNERS13» and «33rd Blakk Glass», which showcased their signature blend of screamed, hardcore-inflected vocals over dark, distorted trap production.

Their debut mixtape, «Hell or High Water» (2018), cemented their reputation as pioneers of the trap metal fusion, drawing on nu-metal aggression and mosh-pit energy filtered through a distinctly online, DIY rap sensibility. The duo's aesthetic — including their collaborations with stylist ScumBagChad for their patched, distressed denim — became as much a part of their identity as the music itself.

Their sophomore album, «As Good as Dead» (2019), broadened their palette with slower, more melancholic tracks like the standout single «THE BALLOONS», showing a willingness to experiment beyond pure aggression. City Morgue's confrontational sound and visual identity made them influential figures in the intersection of rap and metal that flourished in the late 2010s underground scene.
