Chily

Chily is a French rapper of Congolese origin, born in 1998 and raised in Chevilly-Larue after spending his early childhood in Ivry-sur-Seine. He began building his profile through freestyles and tracks posted on the Daymolition platform, a well-known launchpad for French rap talent, before releasing material on his own channel. His breakout came in January 2019 with «Complètement rebanav», a track that introduced his laid-back, melodic flow to a wider audience and marked his arrival in the French rap scene.

Following that success, Chily signed with Arista through his own independent structure, Chap-Chap Records, and released his mixtape En Attendant… in August 2019. He built on this momentum with his debut studio album, 5ème Chambre (Très mystique), released in February 2020, featuring eighteen tracks and guest appearances from Naza, Koba LaD, and Hamza.

In July 2022, Chily released his second album, Van Bommel, named after former Dutch international footballer Mark van Bommel, whom he frequently references in his lyrics, including in the title track. The eighteen-track project featured collaborations with Tiakola, Leto, Guy2Bezbar, and MHD. His style blends melodic hooks with laid-back rap delivery, drawing on Congolese and broader Afro-influenced sounds within the French rap landscape.
