He emerged in the mid-2010s after spending much of his early adulthood in and out of incarceration, channeling that experience into gritty, street-driven storytelling. He gained national attention with the single «Don’t Run», whose remix brought together fellow New York rappers Fabolous, Dave East, Don Q and Young M.A, cementing his place within the city’s resurgent drill and street-rap scene.

Casanova’s sound blends hard-edged Brooklyn drill energy with melodic hooks and a raspy, forceful delivery, drawing comparisons to other New York street-rap veterans while carving out his own lane. He was discovered by Memphis Bleek and went on to sign with Roc Nation, having earlier been affiliated with the label’s Warehouse Music Group imprint. His track «Set Trippin» drew attention for perceived shots at rapper 6ix9ine, though Casanova has denied the song targeted him directly.
