Cam'ron

Cam'ron, born Cameron Giles, is an American rapper from Harlem, New York City, widely regarded as one of the most distinctive and influential voices to emerge from New York rap in the late 1990s and 2000s. He first gained recognition alongside Big L, Ma$e and others in the short-lived group Children of the Corn before launching a successful solo career.

Cam'ron rose to mainstream prominence through his work with Roc-A-Fella Records and later founded the Diplomats (Dipset) collective alongside Jim Jones and Juelz Santana, a group that became hugely influential in shaping 2000s New York street rap and hip-hop fashion. His 2004 album «Purple Haze» is widely considered his creative peak and one of the definitive records of that era, celebrated for its inventive wordplay, offbeat humor and vivid storytelling.

Known for his flamboyant style, sharp punchlines and laid-back yet commanding delivery, Cam'ron has continued releasing music both as a solo artist and with Dipset, as well as mentoring and collaborating with younger artists such as Vado. His influence extends beyond music into fashion and internet culture, and he remains a foundational figure in Harlem hip-hop history.
