Busdriver

Busdriver, born Regan Farquhar, is an experimental rapper and producer from Los Angeles known for his rapid-fire, verbose flow and unconventional, often abstract production choices. Active since around 2000, he has released a large catalog of albums that blend hip-hop with jazz, electronic, and noise influences, earning him a reputation as one of underground rap's most distinctive stylists.

His music resists easy categorization, frequently described as "art rap" for its dense wordplay, shifting rhythms, and willingness to abandon conventional song structure. Busdriver's work is rooted in the Los Angeles underground scene and connects to the Project Blowed collective, from which many experimental West Coast MCs emerged.

In the 2010s he became associated with Hellfyre Club, a label and crew that included artists like Open Mike Eagle and Anderson .Paak, and previously the rapper milo. Through collaborations and a consistently prolific output, Busdriver has remained a respected figure at the edges of hip-hop, influencing artists drawn to abstract lyricism and boundary-pushing production.
