About the artist

Bravehearts are a Queens, New York rap collective closely tied to Nas, formed in the mid-1990s out of the Queensbridge Houses scene that also produced Nas himself, Cormega and Mobb Deep. The group grew out of Nas's inner circle, with several members related to or long affiliated with him, and it became a vehicle for extending the Queensbridge sound beyond Nas's own solo output.

The crew is best known for its 2001 debut album «Bravehearted», released via Nas's Ill Will Records through Columbia, and for the single «Oochie Wally», whose remix featuring Nas became a notable, if divisive, hit that brought the group mainstream attention despite drawing criticism from some who felt it departed from Nas's more lyrical reputation. Songs like «Quick To Back Down», «Cash Flow» and «Twilight» reflect the gritty, street-narrative style typical of early-2000s Queensbridge rap.

While Bravehearts never achieved the commercial or critical stature of Nas's solo work, the group remains a fixture of Queensbridge rap history, valued for its road-tested loyalty to Nas and its role in keeping the neighborhood's collective identity alive within hip-hop.
