Boef

Boef, born Sofiane Boussaadia, is a Dutch-language rapper of Algerian descent, born in Aubervilliers, France, and raised in the Netherlands. After a turbulent adolescence that included a stint in juvenile detention, he turned to music, quickly rising through the Dutch street-rap scene with a raw, direct delivery over trap-influenced beats.

His breakthrough came with the mixtape Gewoon Boef, which spent nearly a year on the Dutch Album Top 100, establishing him as one of the most streamed rappers in the Netherlands. He later launched his own label, BoefMusic, releasing his debut album Slaaptekort independently after leaving his earlier management deal, and became known for songs like «Habiba», «Slapend Rijk» and «Hosselen» that blend street narratives with catchy, radio-friendly hooks.

Boef has collaborated widely across the Dutch and Belgian rap scenes, working with artists such as Chivv, Lijpe, Ismo and Sevn Alias, helping cement Nederhop's crossover into the mainstream. Despite frequent controversy in Dutch media over his public conduct, he remains one of the most commercially successful and influential rappers of his generation in the Netherlands.
