BOBBY (바비)

BOBBY, born Kim Ji-won, is a South Korean rapper and songwriter best known as a member of the K-pop group iKON, originally formed under YG Entertainment. He first gained wide recognition as the winner of the rap survival competition «Show Me The Money 3», which established him as one of the most technically respected rappers to emerge from Korean hip-hop television.

Within iKON, BOBBY has served as a primary rapper and songwriter, contributing to the group's material alongside frequent collaborations with fellow member B.I in their earlier years. He also formed MOBB, a hip-hop duo with Mino of Winner, releasing the EP «The Mobb» in 2016, which showcased a harder, more street-oriented sound than his idol-group work. His solo output, including songs like «봐줘 (L4L)» and other tracks, blends melodic trap and R&B-inflected hip-hop with sharp, rhythmically dense rapping.

BOBBY's style is marked by fast, technical flows rooted in Korean hip-hop's mixtape and cypher culture, later softened with pop hooks to fit idol-group contexts. After his time with YG Entertainment, he moved to 143 Entertainment, continuing to release music as a soloist and with iKON. He remains one of the more credible rap voices within the K-pop idol system, bridging underground hip-hop credibility with mainstream pop appeal.
