Bliss n Eso

Bliss n Eso are an Australian hip-hop trio from Sydney, originally known as Bliss n' Esoterikizm before shortening their name. Formed in the late 1990s, the group consists of MCs Bliss (Jonathon Notley) and Eso (Max MacKinnon) alongside DJ/producer Izm (Tarik Ejjamai), and they became one of the most commercially successful acts in the Australian hip-hop scene, releasing a run of albums across the 2000s and 2010s that steadily built a mainstream audience beyond the genre's underground roots.

Their sound blends introspective, socially conscious lyricism with accessible, melodic production, often incorporating sung hooks and orchestral or electronic flourishes rather than sticking to a strictly boom-bap template. This crossover appeal helped several of their albums achieve ARIA chart success, with multiple releases certified Gold or Platinum in Australia.
