Blanco (UK)

Blanco, born Joshua Eduardo, is a British rapper from Kennington, South London, best known as a founding member of Harlem Spartans, one of the most influential collectives in the early UK drill scene. Alongside acts like «Call Me A Spartan» and «Kennington Where It Started», the group's raw, aggressive sound and street-level storytelling helped define the genre's sonic template in the mid-2010s.

Blanco's career was interrupted when he was arrested in 2017 and later jailed, a period that briefly halted his output but did not end his relevance within UK drill's origin story. Following his release, he rebuilt a solo career, moving beyond drill's boundaries to incorporate trap and Afroswing influences, developing a distinctive slow-paced flow.

His solo catalog, including «Brilliant Mind», «The Great Escape» and a GRM Daily «Daily Duppy» freestyle, showcases a lyrical style noted for its anime references and wordplay, culminating in the 2019 EP «English Dubbed» and the 2021 mixtape «City of God». He remains a respected figure whose early work with Harlem Spartans is frequently cited as foundational to UK drill's rise.
