About the artist
Blanco Brown, born Bennie Amey III, is an American singer, songwriter and producer who broke through in 2019 with the viral hit «The Git Up», which paired a self-invented line dance with a genre-blending track that fused country instrumentation with hip-hop and trap rhythms. The song's crossover success made him one of the most visible figures in the country-trap movement, following a path pioneered by artists like Lil Nas X.
Before his solo breakthrough, Brown built a career as a producer and songwriter, working behind the scenes for artists including Fergie and 2 Chainz, which gave his own material a polished, radio-ready sensibility. His debut self-titled EP arrived in mid-2019, followed later that year by his debut full-length album, «Honeysuckle & Lightning Bugs», which expanded on his signature mix of country storytelling, R&B melodicism and rap cadence.
Tracks such as «CountryTime», «Georgia Power» and «Nobody's More Country» reflect his effort to root the genre fusion in an authentic Southern identity, while «HeadNod» and «Funky Tonk» lean further into groove-driven, danceable production. Brown remains a notable example of an artist bridging country and urban music from the production side outward.
