Blac Youngsta

Blac Youngsta, born Sammie Marquez Benson on April 8, 1990, is a rapper from South Memphis, Tennessee. He built his early reputation through a steady stream of mixtapes before signing with Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group (CMG) in 2015, a partnership that gave him a national platform and a Memphis-rooted sonic identity built on booming bass and blunt, hard-hitting delivery.

His 2015 single «Heavy», featuring Yo Gotti, helped him break out of the regional scene, and a guest verse on Travis Scott’s «coordinate» in 2016 widened his audience further. He broke through commercially in 2017 with the singles «Booty» and «Hip Hopper», both of which anchored his debut studio album, 223 — released, fittingly, on February 23, 2018. The record featured guests including Lil Yachty, Travis Scott, French Montana, Yo Gotti, LunchMoney Lewis, and Rasta Papii.

He followed up with his sophomore album Church on Sunday in November 2019, timed to Black Friday and preceded by the singles «So What», «Goodbye», and «Like a Pro». Across his catalog, Blac Youngsta has remained a fixture of Southern trap and CMG’s roster, known for punchy hooks, flashy bravado, and a raw Memphis edge.
