Big Baby Tape

Big Baby Tape, born Yegor Rakitin, is a Russian rapper and producer from Moscow and a founding figure of the Benzo Gang collective. He began his career in 2012 as a producer under the name DJ Tape 2000, later shifting to rapping over his own beats around 2016 under the names Big Baby Tape and Tape LaFlare, with the goal of promoting the instrumentals he made.

His sound draws heavily on American trap and cloud rap aesthetics, characterized by heavy bass, dark atmospheric production and auto-tuned, melodic delivery, setting him apart within the Russian rap scene as one of its most trap-oriented and internationally styled artists. He gained wider recognition in 2018 through collaborations with Feduk and Boulevard Depo, and cemented his position with the album Dragonborn, released later that year.

As both performer and producer, Big Baby Tape has been a key figure in bringing a distinctly trap-influenced sound into Russian-language rap, with tracks like «Million», «Hokage» and «KARI» reflecting his fusion of aggressive trap production with catchy, melodic hooks. His work with Benzo Gang has helped shape a wave of Russian artists working in a similarly trap-centric style.
