Benal

Benal is a Danish hip-hop duo formed by rapper Benjamin Hav and producer Magnus Albert Wanscher, whose combined first names give the group its name. They began as a trio with a third member before settling into their current lineup, and their sound is defined by electronic, synth-driven production layered under Danish-language rap and melodic vocals.

The duo first drew attention through Denmark's national talent programme KarriereKanonen, reaching the final, and followed that exposure with a run of well-received EPs before releasing their debut album Nu in 2016. That record established their blend of hip-hop songwriting with pop and electronic textures, a formula they expanded on with Hvis Det Virkelig Er Vigtigt the following year, featuring a range of guest artists from the Danish scene.

Their 2018 album Benjamin Og Albert, featuring collaborators such as Orgi-E, marked a further step in their evolution, pairing personal, often melancholic lyrics with polished, contemporary production. Songs like «Fri», «Din Duft» and «Tænker Lidt På dig» reflect their tendency toward introspective, emotionally direct songwriting, placing Benal among the acts that helped bring a softer, more melodic strand of hip-hop into Danish mainstream pop.
