Ben Fero

Ben Fero, born Ferhat Yılmaz in 1991 in Bonn, Germany, is a Turkish rapper who spent his early childhood in Germany before returning with his family to Turkey, where he was raised between his father's Trabzon roots and his mother's Sivas background. He now lives in İzmir. He discovered rap as a child listening to 2Pac and spent years experimenting with the genre as an amateur while completing his education and military service in Cyprus.

For most of his twenties Ben Fero balanced music with a sales job at a private company in İzmir, only turning professional after his 2018 track «Mahallemiz Esmer» gained traction. Songs like «Kimlerdensin» convinced him to leave his day job and commit fully to rap, and he has since built a catalog including «Demet Akalın», «Biladerim İçin», «Babafingo» and «Arkadaş».

His breakthrough came with the 2019 solo album «Orman Kanunları», followed in late 2020 by the EP «Yabani». Ben Fero's sound sits within Turkish street rap, marked by direct, autobiographical lyrics shaped by his working-class background and late entry into the professional music scene.
