Beast Coast

Beast Coast is a New York rap supergroup uniting three Brooklyn-based collectives: Pro Era, led by Joey Bada$$ alongside CJ Fly, Kirk Knight, Nyck Caution, and Powers Pleasant; Flatbush Zombies, made up of Meechy Darko, Zombie Juice, and Erick the Architect; and The Underachievers, featuring AKTHESAVIOR and Issa Gold. The idea for the group traces back to the late Capital STEEZ, Pro Era’s founder, who first envisioned bringing the Brooklyn crews together around 2012.

Early signs of the alliance appeared through guest features linking members of the different crews, most notably on Joey Bada$$’s 2013 track «My Jeep», before Beast Coast formally coalesced as a unit. The group’s official debut single, «Left Hand», arrived on March 11, 2019, serving as the lead single for their joint album «Escape From New York», which brought together the distinct styles of all three crews under one release.

Musically, Beast Coast channels the boom-bap-rooted, lyrically dense tradition associated with Brooklyn hip-hop, blending each crew’s individual identity — Pro Era’s jazzy introspection, Flatbush Zombies’ psychedelic darkness, and The Underachievers’ meditative flow — into a shared, collaborative sound that pays tribute to New York rap lineage while pushing it forward.
