Bars and Melody

Bars and Melody are a British duo formed by rapper Leondre Devries («Bars») and singer Charlie Lenehan («Melody»), who came together as young teenagers and rose to national attention on Britain's Got Talent in 2014, finishing in third place. Their combination of rapped verses and sung, melodic hooks — built around themes of bullying and resilience — struck a chord with a mainstream television audience and launched them straight from a talent-show stage into a recording career.

Their breakout song «Hopeful» became closely tied to their televised origin story and set the template for the pairing's sound: earnest, emotionally direct pop with a hip-hop-inflected rap element. They have continued that formula on original material and covers alike, releasing takes on songs like «Fast Car» and «Too Good at Goodbyes» alongside originals such as «Thousand Years» and «Lighthouse».
