About the artist
Baby Tate (formerly Yung Baby Tate), born Tate Farris, is a rapper, singer, and producer from Atlanta, Georgia, and the daughter of R&B singer Dionne Farris. Raised around music from an early age, she began releasing projects independently in the mid-2010s, starting with the EP «ROYGBIV», and built a reputation as a hands-on artist who writes and produces much of her own material.
Her sound spans playful, bass-heavy rap, R&B, and pop, often laced with humor and unapologetic confidence, tackling sexuality, self-worth, and female empowerment with a bold, in-your-face delivery. Tracks like «I Am», «Hey, Mickey!», and «Mean Girl» highlight her versatility — moving between sing-song hooks and sharp rap verses — while «Sl*t Him Out» became a viral moment that showcased her comfort with unfiltered, sex-positive lyricism.
She has collaborated across the rap and pop landscape and is often cited as an underrated multi-hyphenate of her generation, praised for producing her own beats as well as writing for and with other artists, cementing her place in the modern wave of independently-minded Atlanta hip-hop.
