About the artist
Babi is the stage name of Bárbara Guillén Cantarero, a Spanish singer born on June 24, 1999. She began her career uploading acoustic covers filmed on her phone to YouTube, building an early audience through her intimate, stripped-down interpretations of other artists' songs before turning to original material. Her breakthrough came in mid-2019, when tracks such as «Rota», «Desierto» and «Lo jodiste» spread widely online and pushed her into the Spanish urban and pop scene.
Her sound blends Latin pop and R&B with rap-adjacent cadences, favoring confessional lyrics about heartbreak, self-worth and relationships delivered in a warm, conversational voice. This emotional directness, paired with production that leans on trap-influenced beats and melodic hooks, became her signature and helped her stand out among a wave of young Spanish-language urban-pop artists.
Babi has collaborated with several other Spanish and Latin artists, including Xenon on «Somos» and «Estigma» and G SONY on «La última vez», and she released a widely noted cover of Miranda's «Niebla». Songs like «Colegas», «Amén», «Game Ova», «Stressed Out» and «Dueles» further cemented her presence in the genre, and she built a substantial following on YouTube and Instagram as her catalogue grew.
