B Young

B Young is a British singer and rapper from Hackney, East London, of Turkish-Cypriot descent. Before pursuing music full-time he worked as a sound engineer, a background that shaped his ear for the smooth, melodic production style he later became known for. He first drew attention with «Been Wavey» and broke through more widely with «Jumanji» in 2018, a track that blended UK rap cadences with an Afroswing-leaning bounce and became a defining hit of that year's UK urban scene.

Following the success of «Jumanji», B Young released «079ME» and «Juice», both of which charted in the UK, cementing his place among a wave of London-based artists mixing rap, R&B and dancehall-inflected pop. His sound is marked by catchy, sing-along hooks layered over minimal, bass-driven beats, a style closely associated with the UK's Afroswing movement of the late 2010s.

He later returned with «Gucci Demon», which also found chart success, showing his continued relevance in the UK urban music landscape despite a relatively selective release schedule compared to more prolific peers.
